A Cathedral Hill Christmas

Step back in time to experience a Victorian Christmas through the stories of Saint Paul's past. Get to know the people that lived and worked in the historic Summit Avenue and Cathedral Hill districts, from society ladies planning lavish Christmas parties to the servants whose hard work that made Gilded Age glamor possible.

 

This 60-minute winter walking tour will take you down the longest stretch of preserved Victorian homes in the country, and explore the Victorian origins of some of our most popular holiday traditions. Bring the whole family, and get in the holiday spirit while enjoying one of the most scenic areas in the Twin Cities!

Sundays at 3:30pm
December 7th - 28th, 2025 

LENGTH– Tours are roughly 60 minutes, and will cover about a mile with frequent stops. This tour will be walking along public sidewalks in conditions that may include ice and snow.

TIMES– Tours are offered every Sunday in December, 2025, at 3:30 pm. 

LOCATION– Tours depart from and return to Summit Lookout Park, at 418 Summit Ave, St Paul, MN 55102 (across from the University Club). 

PARKING– Parking is nearby street parking. Please be mindful of parking signs and snow emergency restrictions. 

FACILITIES– Our tour has no restrooms or facilities of its own.

WEATHER– Tours are entirely outdoors and will proceed in all weather conditions, unless there is severe weather (e.g. sub-zero temperatures, blizzard conditions). Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear footwear appropriate for winter walking. In the event of a severe weather cancellation, guests will be notified by email and text no later than one hour before the scheduled tour, and any payments made will be refunded.
